A Multi Area Agreement (MAA) is a cross boundary agreement that contains elements of and supports work contained in the
Local Area Agreements of those areas sharing that boundary.
Multi Area Agreements complement the Local Area Agreements, they bring together key players and provide flexible ways to tackle issues that are better addressed in partnership.
Our MAA proposal has a clear focus on economic development and an emphasis on increasing employment, raising skill levels and increasing business growth.
The scope of the Leicestershire MAA has been agreed in principle with CLG and the Government Office for the East Midlands (GOEM), although there have been discussions about extending the MAA in the nearfuture to include areas such as transport, housing and environment. Our priorities have been closely aligned to the RES and are firmly embedded within the City and County Sustainable Community Strategies (SCS).
